Training willAt the Schrocks Gym, Founder and Hall of Famer Ruth N. Nelson will be conducting certification of the GoKids Youth Sports™ Skills Trainer program for parents, elementary school teachers, recreational coaches, and youth club coaches.
The GoKids Youth Sports™ program provides sports skills training for kids ages 7 and under (Level 1) and 8 and up (Level 2). Training will take place at Schrocks Gym for. The tentative demonstration time schedule (may be subject to change) includes: |

Tentative Times for Thursday, July 18 (1 day certification):
9:00-9:55: class room or on-court with discussion and participation 10:00-10:55: on-court with discussion and participation 11:00-11:55: on-court with discussion and participation 12:00-12:30: Lunch TBA 12:30-1:25: in classroom 1:30–2:25: practical on-court with kidz 2:30-2:55: practical on-court with kidz 3:00-3:30: Final summary, photos and certification presentation |

Event Overview:
Each year, Founder of BYOP® Ruth N. Nelson conducts GKYS™ Certification courses across the country. This year marks the first GoKids Youth Sports™ Skills Trainer Course we will be conducting Schrocks Gym, 1616 West 39th Street, Kearney, Nebraska 68847
During this event, players ages 10 and under will have the exciting opportunity to participate in the GKYS™ Skills Trainer on-court practical experience.
Course Demonstration Details:
- Dates: Saturday, January 25
- Time: Saturday, January 25 (including breaks), between 1:30-3:00 pm.
Event Requirements:
We are in need of 8–12 players for two age groups: ages 5, 6, 7, and ages 8, 9, 10. These players will actively participate in drills and exercises designed for teaching and training children ages 10 and under during our on-court certification (no experience is necessary).
For each age group, we require:
- 4-6 players ages 5, 6, 7
- 4-6 players ages 8, 9, 10
We kindly request that an adult (such as a club coach, teacher, or parent) accompany each participant during all demonstrations. Additionally, please ensure to bring snacks for the participants' break times.
Space is limited to no more than 12 kids. To register, please complete the online contact form provided below. Additionally, please ensure that the following two waivers are dated and signed prior to January 15, 2025. Please email directly to: [email protected]
